Harmony Leige & Aliya Harvey Obituary, Death - The three teenagers who died in a car crash on Thursday night were "a joy in class," a friend recalled on Friday. get a good giggle out of you. Danick Hinkson, a senior at Lakeview, remarked how nice they usually were.
James Harrison, 18, Harmony Leige, 17, and Aliya Harvey, both of whom were set to graduate from Lakeview Area High School in 2022, were murdered in a car accident on Skunk Run Road between Lake and Jackson townships on Friday.
The state police reported that Harrison lost control of his vehicle around 8:50 p.m. on a left curve. Vehicle left the road and entered a patch of trees. According to state police, an accident warning on a passenger's iPhone prompted emergency crews to the burning vehicle. At 9:30, the Mercer County coroner confirmed the deaths of three teenagers.
On Friday, Mercer County Coroner John Libonati ruled that all three deaths were accidental and related to car accidents. Friday was an in-service day at Lakeview, according to Superintendent Keith Wolfe, which meant no classes and no student help. During the Columbus Day holiday weekend, when schools were closed on both Friday and Monday, the district provided counseling services.
According to Wolfe, many Lakeview students, grads, and locals sought help from therapists that day. According to his memory, Liege and Harvey were once "joined at the hip." The going is tough. Women were wonderful companions. They were all doing their own thing, but the staff noticed, Wolfe said.Perhaps not, but it serves as a reminder that everyone can.
The tragedy caused the school system to issue a Facebook plea for unity. Through this tragedy, our small rural community has shown its capacity for love and camaraderie. Remembering and helping these students is a priority. It was decided during Friday's meeting whether the undefeated Lakeview Sailors would face the Cambridge Springs Blue Devils in the upcoming game.
The Lakeview coaching staff made a unanimous decision to play, and coach Bill Hickman noted that this "transcends football." These children suffer. Coach Bill Hickman of the football team stated it hurts them. To play for them was a dream for everyone. The town and the players can aid."
Hickman indicated that Cambridge Springs would be paying tribute to the victims prior to their Lakeview game. Due to funerals and other festivities happening in Wolfe next week, Lakeview has moved its homecoming game to Senior Night on October 20. A great running back and defensive back for the Sailors, Hinkson will miss Liege, Harvey, and his three dynamic students. In my phys ed class, there was a woman on either side. I found myself laughing at their clever remarks.
